Academia Aesthetic for the New School Year

It’s time to hit the books, but before you do, you’ll need the right style. We can’t speak for everybody out there, but the whole “look good, test good” thing holds merit around here. Here are a few academic-inspired styles we’re obsessing over for the new school year:

Mary Janes

Mary Jane style shoes, sometimes also referred to as “doll shoes,” are known for their low cut, closed toe, and strap across the top. Often made of leather, they give the buttoned-up, uniform-friendly appearance that you need going into the academic year. See some of our favorites below:

Loafers

If you want to dress to impress, maybe consider a loafer for your next academic-inspired fit. They fall under the business casual umbrella but have been gaining popularity among casual brands over the last few years. The Dr. Martens loafers, for example, are the perfect combo of dark academia and prep, and we’re here for it!

Boots

Boots are best for all of fall, we don’t make the rules! When dressing for your academic endeavors, don’t forget to consider a sleek boot with the added bonus of a sturdy build. Shop right and you might even find a weather-friendly pair as well to carry you from fall to winter.
