This week, Journeys launched their North American partnership with the non-profit organization, Can’d Aid. Over the course of three weeks, Journeys employees in 73 cities across US, Puerto Rico and Canada will build and donate over 1,500 skateboards in their local communities! Read about our first local event HERE.
Can’d Aid is a nationally recognized nonprofit that rallies volunteers from all walks of life to build thriving communities. Through their unique integrated approach, they provide access and opportunities for underserved youth to experience music, arts and the outdoors. Fueled by people power and in direct response to evolving community needs, Can’d Aid programs create transformational impact. For more information go to candaid.org.
Together, our employees are making a long-lasting impact while supporting Journeys Core Value #12: Journeys is a Family with an Attitude That Cares.
“Kids spend over seven hours a day on screens and that’s a lot of time staring at a screen. So, this is the one tool that we can suggest. Like hey take a break from your phone, the tv, or video game, get outside, and get some fresh air.” -Sarah Leavitt, Can’d Aid Director of Operations and Programs
“I really believe that everything we do now is going to pay it forward later on….this is the generation we need to [invest] the time into.” -Dusty Welch, Journeys Regional Vice President
