It’s officially Pride Month, and we can’t believe we’re already halfway through! We “previewed” our plans for Pride a few weeks back, but now that it’s in full swing, we’re ready to P-A-R-T-Y as well as learn, grow, and advocate for this cause close to our hearts!
Journeys Community Outreach Manager Bailey Saunders helps manage nonprofit partnerships as well as plan events for employees to participate in causes they care about, like Nashville Pride and local Pride events for store employees across the country.
“We love participating in Pride, and so many of our employees appreciate the opportunity to get together for a cause they care about. That’s why we do what we do,” says Saunders.
Our goal is always to promote Core Value #12: Journeys is a Family With an Attitude that Cares, and we treat Pride as a celebration but also a learning opportunity for our whole, big Journeys fam,” Saunders said.
The Trevor Project
One of the partnerships that we are most proud of is our partnership with The Trevor Project, the leading suicide prevention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people. Among The Trevor Project’s many goals, a few include the mission to end suicide among LGBTQ young people, a 24/7 phone, text, and chat crisis service, and so much more!
This year for Pride, The Trevor Project launched their campaign: Stories of Pride: The Power of Us. This campaign celebrates LGBTQ young people and those who support them because when they see places where they can belong or people advocating for them, it has a life-saving impact. Nashville Pride
You might not know that Journeys is headquartered in Nashville, TN, and we make Nashville Pride a BIG deal around here! So many of our local employees look forward to participating every year and donating their free time to this cause. Last year we partnered with Beautiful Strength, a Nashville-based mobile photographer that’s mission is to “celebrate the resilience of the human spirit through the power of conversation and photography.” Take a look at just a few of the mems:

“Whether you’re a member of the LGBTQ community or an ally, going to Nashville Pride is absolutely electric,” says Brandon Major, Community Outreach Marketing Specialist.
“We always know it’s going to be high energy and full of fun, passionate people, but it’s always even better than we thought it would be. I’m sure this year will be no different,” Major said.
We hope that you’re finding ways to honor, learn, and celebrate Pride Month in your own way. Tag us in your Pride outfits and at events you’re attending @journeys on TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter.
