It’s that time of year again, the time for giving and The Big Payback!
How much time? Exactly 24 hours of it!
The Big Payback is an annual online donation celebration by The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Its purpose is to raise funds and awareness for local nonprofits, schools, and other organizations in just one day.
In the last eight years, the org has raised more than $25 million for middle Tennessee nonprofits. Yeah… that IS a big payback, and we’re proud to announce we’re participating again this year! Journeys is donating to two of our favorite nonprofit partners: Youth Villages and Rocketown.
Youth Villages is all about family, specifically foster families. It supports and advocates for children around the country, providing long-term solutions in child welfare, juvenile justice, and children’s mental health.
The Journeys Big Payback donation will go directly to children and teens, supporting them through recreational activities or in pursuit of higher education.
Rocketown, located in middle Tennessee, takes a different approach, supporting youth in the greater Nashville metropolitan area. Working to nurture the teen mind, body, and spirit, young adults are welcomed into both Rocketown and Sixth Avenue Skate Park facilities with open arms.
Just hanging out and taking advantage of the diverse programs and services can do wonders for a kid. Rocketown features attractions like live music, dance classes, recording studios, academic enrichment, an assisted meal program, and more!
During the Big Payback with Rocketown this year, Journeys is doing a donation match up to $5,000! Donations, including our match, will go directly into the facilities, supporting awesome programs like those listed above.
Join in the Big Payback
We’re longtime friends of both Youth Villages and Rocketown, and grinning ear to ear that we’re able to support them in this way! If possible, we encourage you to give what you can to your favorite nonprofits in The Big Payback. We’ve seen firsthand how even small donations make a big difference and a Big Payback —Not to mention that donations are tax-deductible.
